Fair warning...

I'm probably going to be posting some non-Dawg, non-sports stuff today...

So to make up for it, here is one of my favorite Dawg moments of all time...I like everything about it except the black stripe on the helmet.

One of my favorite Munson calls of all time, as well...

37 DAYS TO KICKOFF!!

GO DAWGS!!

No thoughts on Bill Hahn vs. the entire Braves roster? The guy walked over to the dug out to pick a fight last night. I have NEVER seen anything like that. He calls a pitch that was a foot and a half outside (the catcher had to reach for it) a strike on McCann. Later, McCann is talking about it in the dugout. Hahn apparently hears him because there were 17 fans at the Marlins' game. Hahn walks over to the dugout and stands there. Bobby goes out there, tells him to "just call the game, what are you doing?" Hahn starts acting extremely strange, and after a few minutes of crazy, ejects Bobby. I've never seen an umpire go over and pick a fight with a dugout before. That guy needs to lose his job. He's thrown 5 Braves out in the last 2 games he's called (the last one was the famous meltdown in Boston). We're not the only team that has had to deal with his bat-s routine.

I did not watch the game last night...by the time I got home from church it was 6-1 Marlins so I found other things to watch. I'll try to find it online sometime today.

But without even seeing the game last night, I can tell you this from prior experience: Bill Hahn is a terrible umpire with a ridiculously short fuse, and a chip on his shoulder as well (probably because he's such a terrible umpire that people are always yelling at him...that would put me in a bad mood, too).

I did see some of the postgame stuff...the studio guys were trying to say that Hahn "pumped his fist" after the game, like he was celebrating a Marlins win was ridiculous...he was just calling McLouth out after the foul tip. The "fist pump" is the signal for "out". Has Brian Jordan somehow forgotten that?

No, that's not what Brian Jordan was talking about. After the last out, Mclouth trotted off, the catcher stood up, pulled off his mask, and Hahn did a fist bump with the catcher. Like the catcher was saying "good game ump" and Hahn was saying "glad I could help.". Chipper was pissed about this too, and hung around on the field staring Hahn down before he headed into the dugout.

Great post. I can still remember watching that one (with the radio on of course) down at my grandmother's house and having to leave right after it to go to my friend Dan's wedding (who gets married during football season?) I love the call, I love the emotion that Hines (best dawg of my "fandom") shows. I love the fact that it was against the nerds. It's weird how similar that play looks to the 4th and 15 MJ catch at Auburn. Even down to the fact that Larry wasn't sure who caught it.

As far as the Bravos. I was watching and it was totally crazy. Josh, you forgot to mention the bizarre way that he pulled out the line-up card while he was instigating Bobby. Oh, and how about the fact that he looks like a classic Hollywood villian from the 20's witht that 'stach.

Unrelated to this discussion, but I just re-watched Ealey's highlight reel. That kid is gooooood. I want them all to do well, but he may get on the field sooner than later.
