Super quick LOST thoughts - full recap to come later

Ha, ha....yeah, right. There was WAY too much in that episode to do any kind of "quick" recap.

Suffice to say that it was about 20 different levels of teh awesomez, except that I think they kind of blew the Jin-Sun reunion. "Looks like somebody got her voice back", Frank? Would you like some wine with that cheese?

Besides that slight mis-step, this was just tremendous...I thought it really felt like the episodes we usually get right before the finale, and we still have four more episodes to go.

This recap is going to be a long one, I think, because I feel like every single scene was packed with tension, meaning, etc, etc...I was on the edge of my seat for about the last forty minutes.

I do want to say one thing that I was reminded of when Smokey admitted to Jack that it was him impersonating his father way back in season one...I have seen some people complaining that some of the "reveals" that we have gotten this season have been things we already knew. Well, first of all, no we didn't "know"....we were speculating. The fact that we were able to figure some of the things out only means that the writing is logical, and by using logic we were able to deduce some of the answers. I would much rather that than to have storylines take weird and illogical turns just so that they can say they "surprised" us (or "swerved" us, if any of you are wrestling fans who remember the days of Vince Russo).

Anyway...this was awesome, and I can't wait to watch it again.

Namaste.

agreed, episode was great. I'm still left wondering about the Widmore angle and especially after his team taking the Losties hostage at the end execution style. Smocke saving Jack at the end made me question his evilness...

klesko12 - first of all, great account name...Rhyno was one of my favorite mid-90s braves.

Yeah, I will definitely be addressing all of that in the full recap...I just knew that if I started going through everything, it would end up not being the "super quick" thoughts I promised....there was just too much.
It's going to take me a full page and a half just to parse through Smocke's claim that he was actually Christian, and that was in one of the very first scenes. Did that mean he has ALWAYS been Christian, or just certain times? Are "Suit Christian" and "Club Med Christian" two different entities? Etc, etc....

The big thing I'm having a hard time with is this: Ok, so Not Locke can't directly kill Jacob because of some kind of rule. Finds his loophole, conspires to get Ben to kill Jacob. Proceeds to murder everyone in the Temple in about 3.2 seconds. If he's so worried about what happens if they stay, as Jack said, why doesn't he just kill everyone on the island, take his plane, and leave? And, if he needs all the candidates to leave (let's suppose he can't kill them either), why the hell did he work so hard to get them all back to the island in the first place if all he needed were dead Locke and Ben? Why did Not Locke, in the form of Christian, help Locke leave the island to bring them all back and "tell his son hello"? I guess this could be explained with the possibility that "Suit Christian" and "Club Med Christian" are two different people, but they've still got a long way to go with that whole question methinks. It would stand to reason that if both Not Locke and and Jacob can keep track of people and bring them to the island (Which is still speculation, but his cave would stand to reason this is so...at least, I think...), then both should be able to impersonate dead people. Which makes the visions of Hurley even more confusing. Who knows who he was talking to...

Nickname from ATO's @ UGA Summer 97, guess the seniors thought i looked like klesko, then that name just became my online persona. Great job with your recaps, how the hell you remember this stuff from years past baffles me.

The Christian from Jack's first flashforward has to be a different entity. Those encounters occurred off island I think. Great stuff!
