Writer's block...good thing Blutarsky is around

As you can probably tell, I have been struggling to come up with the motivation to put together a lot of blog posts lately. Part of that is the lack of subject matter...not much else can be said about the fact the Braves are really good, football is in the last days of the dead period, none of the summer TV that I watch is good for blogging (until Mad Men comes back!), and I don't think many of you are nearly as interested as I am in the transfer period of the English Premier League.

So part of it is lack of content...the other part is that the stuff I WOULD be talking about, I don't really want to talk about.

Luckily, the good Senator takes everything I would have said and says it MUCH better, as is often the case.

Just click HERE for a great summation about how I feel about the "discipline problem" that UGA and Coach Richt supposedly have.

Oh, and...Paul Finebaum is an idiot.

That is all.

GO DAWGS!!!

Thanks, man.

In case you can't tell, I'm blushing.

Add me to the list of people who care about the EPL's open transfer window... Will Chelsea secure Torres for the future? Will Real pull Ashley Cole from my Blues? Will Chelsea be able to sign 17 year old phenom, Romelu Lukaku? Will jewish german star Mesut Ozil join a team in the EPL (maybe Chelsea)? Obviously, I tend to focus my attention to Chelsea, but I try to keep current with most of the EPL transfers. Who's your EPL team?

Drew-
Seriously JUST getting into EPL. Got fired up about soccer during the World Cup and started setting my DVR to record EPL and UEFA Cup replays on the Fox Soccer Channel.

So, I am still trying to figure everything out. So far, I have really enjoyed watching both Chelsea and Man City. LOVE Frank Lampard, LOVE Craig Bellamy, and the Man City games just always seem to be really exciting. It helps that they have an Irish keeper...that scores them points in my book.

Bad news on Torres today, huh?

It’s interesting you say the World Cup got you into it… the 2006 World Cup did that for me. It’s an awesome sport to follow. I tend to only really pay attention to the EPL, but I keep up with La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A, too. I can’t watch the MLS… it’s too bad. Have you picked a team yet? That was a fun process for me… me and a couple friends put together spreadsheets for each team documenting our predetermined assessment criteria (my auditing job has totally made me a nerd). We were inspired by Bill Simmons - http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060719 . It was all over from there. Now, I watch at least 3 matches a week during the season.

As for Frank Lampard - I might be concerned if you said you didn't like him. Germany’s Bastien Schweinstegier apparently wants to be him - http://www.chelseadaft.org/2010/07/schweinsteiger-wants-to-be-lampard.html . Although I guess some people really do despise him. The man is a ball distributing, goal scoring machine. His girlfriend is ridiculously hot, too.

Torres is an interesting topic. I read a report today that said Chelsea is still very intent on signing him, even with another injury. As much as I'd like to see him wearing Blue, I'm very concerned he's a waste of money simply because of injury concerns. Has he ever lasted an entire season? I seriously don't know that he'd last half a season a Chelsea because they play such a physical game.

Man City is fun to try and keep up with… that Abu Dhabi United Group is printing money just to spend on players. Chelsea has been trying to get David Silva for years now, but wouldn’t spend the money Man City did. That team is going to keep getting better… because Al-Qaeda says so.

Yeah, there's just no way I can keep up with all of those leagues...I'm going to have to limit myself to EPL and the occasional Barca match, at least until the UEFA Cup starts.

Even a novice like me can tell that the MLS is just not good. It's funny, though...the EPL and UEFA matches I have seen is much higher quality soccer than what we saw at the World Cup. Probably because of familiarity with each other and a higher concentration of talent on each squad, I would think?

I was disappointed to see Man City is getting rid of Bellamy...I have really enjoyed watching him run around like a Tasmanian Devil in the replays from last season's games.

Saw on Soccernet that Schweinsteiger may be looking to move to Real Madrid..or to your beloved Blues.
